• The first permanent ABSOLUT ICEBAR opened in 2002 at the Nordic Sea Hotel in Stockholm.• In 1999, an ABSOLUT ICEBAR was erected in the Niger desert for a fashion show featuring designers such as Kenzo, Mickael Kra (Ivory Coast) and Alphadi (Niger).• Art work, walls, furniture, and drinking glasses are hand-carved from the huge blocks of ice.
• The first permanent ABSOLUT ICEBAR opened in 2002 at the Nordic Sea Hotel in Stockholm.• In 1999, an ABSOLUT ICEBAR was erected in the Niger desert for a fashion show featuring designers such as Kenzo, Mickael Kra (Ivory Coast) and Alphadi (Niger).• Art work, walls, furniture, and drinking glasses are hand-carved from the huge blocks of ice.• ABSOLUT ICEBAR has a computer-controlled inner temperature of minus 5 degrees Celsius (23 Fahrenheit).• The ice is harvested in March every year from the deep-frozen Torne River.• Ice made from freshwater is harder and clearer than ice from salt water.• As water freezes to ice, sediments and salt are pushed out of the ice on a molecular level, making it cleaner than the surrounding water. The ice inside ABSOLUT ICEBAR is clean enough to be categorized as drinking water by the Swedish Health Association.• Jewellery designers David & Martin have designed a silver bracelet for ABSOLUT ICEBAR. They have previously worked with Karl Lagerfeld.• More than a million guests have experienced the unique ABSOLUT ICEBAR concept throughout the world.

ABOUT ICEHOTEL JUKKASJÄRVILocated 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden is one of the world’s most unique sights. The entire hotel is built of snow and ice in November each year as the temperature sinks below zero. The naturally frozen ice from the adjacent Torne River is used for building the ICEHOTEL and all ABSOLUT ICEBAR’s.
